Profab Motorsport Fabrications - Joe Gauci's Journey and Achievements
Joe Gauci is a qualified Fitter & Machinist, Automotive Mechanic, Pressure Welder, and Body Maker. In 2003, Joe founded Profab Motorsport Fabrications (‘Profab’) driven by a lifelong passion for cars and a relentless pursuit of innovation. Since the age of 18, Joe has been deeply involved in car modifications, particularly in drag racing. It all began in 1986 with Joe's Ford TD Cortina, which he raced and developed over the coming years. Starting with a street car, Joe's goal is to continuously improve performance over the quarter-mile. Initially equipped with a 6-cylinder cross-flow engine, Joe achieved a notable debut with an E.T. of 13.3 seconds @ 103MPH. Through years of meticulous development, Joe pushed the car and engine to its limits, culminating in a personal best of 8.58 seconds at 162MPH, establishing it as the fastest Ford 6-cylinder cross-flow engine in the world over the quarter-mile.

Ford TD Cortina Era (1980 - 2018)
In 1986, Joe began his drag racing career with a Ford TD Cortina, starting with a street car and steadily improving its performance. His journey with the Cortina culminated in achieving a world-record time of 8.58 seconds at 162 MPH over the quarter-mile, solidifying its place as the fastest Ford 6-cylinder crossflow engine globally.

Ford Mustang (2018)
In 2018, Joe embarked on a new challenge, acquiring a 2016 Ford Mustang that he and his team at Profab Motorsport Fabrications transformed into a powerhouse for the outlaw radial class. The Mustang made its debut in May 2019 at Meguiar’s MotorEx in Melbourne and quickly made headlines with a 4.01 seconds at 197 MPH run at Willowbank Raceway, securing Runner-Up and Best Presented at its first event.
